The first ‘hard evidence’ that other universes exist has been found by scientists.
Cosmologists studying a map of the universe from data gathered by the Planck spacecraft have concluded that it shows anomalies that can only have been caused by the gravitational pull of other universes.
I don’t usually find my science news in The Daily Mail, but this is the first place I’ve seen this story. Hopefully a better, more in depth discussion of it will turn up soon.

A multiverse…. Finally !
I strongly believe in the existences of multiverses. And if some day we do discover a jump between these, who knows, we may end up staring at our own timelines !
I am a sort of “agnostic” on this question. I’m in a rather appropriate quantum superposition, simultaneously believing and disbelieving in a multiverse. There probably is more than one possible explanation for this anomaly, but it is pretty cool stuff.
I choose to believe in a multiverse just so I can be happy that somewhere there’s a “me” who has won the lottery and can blog full-time. Actually, it might be interesting to understand what kind of “other” universes this evidence suggests may exist. In the world of sci-fi one happens across two kinds, broadly speaking: the “parallel” universe, which is alien to our own, and the “alternate” universe, which is like one or more branching timelines split off by different potential outcomes of an event. I think the kind of multiverse being discussed in this article is more along the lines of the “parallel” world, an entirely alien space-time continuum with potentially different laws of physics. I’m not sure the two kinds are necessarily mutually exclusive though, but I’m also sure that scientists might be more ready to accept the existence of one type than the other.
